Everyday Mission
Resources for growing as a missionary disciple — personally and in your church/community.
Did you Know?
If you’re a Christian, you are a missionary!
If you call yourself a follower of Jesus, God calls you his missionary. You may never go halfway around the world. You may not raise financial support. But because of God's gospel work in you, you are on mission: to people in your work, school, neighborhood, and those in need.
As everyday missionaries, God has sent us to live out his
Great Commission in the ordinary, normal, all-too-busy,
and even most mundane moments of our lives.
About the Course
For many followers of Jesus, “missions” means taking a trip overseas or financial supporting someone who has. But part of every Christians’s identity and calling in Christ means that we all get to display and declare the good news of Jesus, in everyday ways, wherever we live.
Over six sessions, Ben Connelly (pastor, founder of the Equipping Group, and co-author of A Field Guide for Everyday Mission) asks and answers questions to help us live on God’s mission, in everyday life.
Each session involves a brief training video, as well as follow-up work to make the content personal and tangible. Certainly a course like this cannot cover every aspect of thriving in ministry, but The Equipping Group’s hope is that it serves you well, and helps equip you to display and declare the gospel — in everyday ways, in your everyday life.
Why does this matter?
Ordinary moments and interactions are opportunities for gospel impact.

Stories
Group Discussion
The first time your group meets to introduce the book, walk them through the section titled “The 5 W’s: How to Use This Field Guide” in the Introduction. It explains the structure of the book and the best ways to approach it. The Field Guide includes group discussion questions at the end of each week. For your members to be fully engaged, it’s best to individually read and reflect on that Week’s content before meeting each week. Below, you will find teaching videos for each week of the Field Guide to introduce discussion in your group meeting.
02
Interviews
The interview section of the Everyday Mission course features real-life stories from everyday Christians living on mission in their normal rhythms of life. These honest, practical conversations offer inspiration and insight into how ordinary people—just like you—are displaying and declaring the gospel in workplaces, neighborhoods, homes, and beyond.

Who’s the Trainer?
Ben Connelly
Ben is honored to serve everyday disciples, ministry leaders, and church planters worldwide through The Equipping Group, and to help lead Salt+Light Community and Plant Fort Worth in Fort Worth, TX.
“Ben and Bob bring to the table different perspectives, different generations, different stories, and different experiences. But they are unified in something far deeper: a gospel-saturated, Spirit-reliant, urgency and passion for God's mission, which can be—and must be—carried out in more normal settings than most of us realize. My hope is that God uses this book to open eyes, change our collective posture toward God's call, and inspire many lives on mission, for the sake of the gospel.”
— Jeff Vanderstelt, Soma
“Bob Roberts and Ben Connelly have given the local church an incredibly helpful and practical guide to doing mission that will equip everyone from the seasoned practitioner to the brand new believer. It is simple and straightforward, yet it has the power to change both your neighborhood and the world for Christ.”
— Matt Carter, Austin Stone
“If you find that 'missional talk' can be a bit vague then this is the book for you. It’s an accessible guide to missional thinking. But even better, it will help put it into practice.”
— Tim Chester, Pastor and Author
